As an actor, the most important resource you have is your resilience. Managing the emotional lows that come with your acting career can be challenging -- rejection, long dry spells, not feeling good enough and when you land the job, the potential emotional & psychological strain of playing the character and/or ‘lingerings’ afterward, and the many other challenges that may confront you in your career. Your number one defense to all of the above is to be grounded in your resilience – your superpower and gift that keeps giving. Resilience supports self-confidence, wellbeing, and your overall mind-set.

In this experiential workshop, you will be guided through a step by step somatic and cognitive process that will give voice to your resilience through perspective taking/role playing of your own resources. It’s the perfect opportunity to reacquaint yourself with your inner strengths and acquire tools so you will be able to do it for yourself whenever you need a top up. You may even want to take the perspective of other resources that exist in the group and, through the same guided step by step process, integrate them for your own cannon of resilience.

This workshop is for student actors, emerging professionals and veterans.

About the Presentation Facilitator
